Homeless Healthcare has addicts lined up for free needles, glass pipes, smoking foils and other accessories to help them get high. This is despite the fact that giveaways of this nature do not stop the spread of disease, or produce “harm reduction”, because disease is not spread through the use of pipes, it is from shared needles. Some stuffed their pipe with fentanyl right outside the door in broad daylight while the center ushered in more addicts. Some “customers” say they don’t even use the giveaways, they sell them to buy more drugs, with one user saying he gets $2 for every pipe! The center also offers free snacks, coffee, rides to doctors offices and other free services. I guess it’s meant to help out but addicts say the money they save from the swag just frees up more money for drugs which, as they say, defeats the purpose?
