We want to have frank and open discourse, including strong thoughts and commentaries, we only draw the line at hateful, hurtful comments that go over the line.
Yes, but only in extreme cases, like hate speech that crosses the line. If we see that the participant will receive a warning, but here, 2 strikes and you’re out.
Once we have identified what we feel goes over the line we present that to a 5 member independent panel to make the final decision.
We believe a year is a good cooling off period, but if the person makes a strong enough case in front of the panel, we could re-consider.
Can you ever be banned for life? Here again, 2 strikes you’re out. If one is banned, and we let them back, and they again engage in egregious behavior, they can be banned for life.
